The Vietnamese Bahn Mi Sandwich is son of my all-time favorite sandwiches and I’ve enjoyed a few variations over the years. The perfect Bahn Mi has soft chewy bread, lots of mayo, lots of fresh veggies, lots of fresh cilantro, marinated tofu and a little spice. Our Healing Bahn Mi Sandwich checks all those boxes plus it’s gluten-free, animal-free- GMO-free, sugar-free made with 100% healing plants. It has ALL 9 Essential Amino Acids,18 of your 22 amino acids, ALL your trace minerals, ALL your B Vitamins, Vitamins A, C, D, E and K, omega-3 and omega-6 in the perfect ration with more protein than a strip of sirloin.

Let’s prepare some food…

INGREDIENTS TOFU MARINADE

1 package Organic Extra Firm Tofu pressed

2 tsp Tamari aged

1 tsp Garlic powder

1 tsp Chinese Chili Paste

1/4 tsp MSG

INGREDIENTS SANDWICH

1 Schar gluten-free Sandwich Roll

2 tbsp Sriracha Plant-Mayo

1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro chopped

1/4 cup Fresh Carrots shredded

1/4 cup Fresh Cucumber sliced

UTENSILS

Air Fryer

Empty Tofu Container (for marinating)

Cutting Board

Chef’s Knife

1/4 Teaspoon

Teaspoon

Tablespoon

Scissors (to open tofu)

Small Bowl

Mixing Fork

PREPARATION (Bahn Mi Sandwich)

  1. Have Sriracha Plant-Mayo made and Tofu pressed before you begin
  2. Cut pressed Tofu in half by height and again lengthwise
  3. Put bottom HALVES of Tofu back in Empty Tofu Container with the inside pointing up 
  4. Add HALF of the Tamari, Garlic powder, MSG and Chinese Chili Paste on top of the Tofu Halves in the empty container
  5. Add top HALVES of Tofu on top of bottom layer in the Empty Tofu Container with the inside pointing up
  6. Add remaining half of Tamari, Garlic powder, MSG and Chinese Chili Paste
  7. Let marinate 30+ minutes to allow Tofu to soak up all the Tamari goodness
  8. After Tofu has marinated add to Air Fryer Basket with space between each piece
  9. Air Fry for 30 minutes
  10. Flip your Tofu Strips
  11. Air Fry Tofu another 30 minutes
  12. While Tofu Strips are cooking chop Cilantro, shred Carrots and  slice Cucumber
  13. Butterfly Petite Baguette
  14. Spread Sriracha Plant-Mayo evenly over the insides of the Petite Baguette
  15. Heat in oven, air fryer or toaster til warm (about 6-7 minutes)
  16. Remove from Air Fryer
  17. Top Warmed Petite Baguette with Cucumber Slices & Shredded Carrots
  18. Top with Tofu Strip(s)
  19. Top with Chopped Cilantro
  20. Drizzle with more Sriracha Plant-Mayo (optional)
  21. Eat and Enjoy guilt free because every bit nourishes your body
