I remember my first pepperoni pizza and thinking before my first bite that I was sure I wouldn’t be impressed. How could something so simple turn so many of into ravenous beasts? Then I bit into my first pie and I finally understood its beauty was in its understated elegance. A pepperoni pizza isn’t trying to hard and has no one to impress. A pepperoni pizza just is. A delightful blend of tangy, melty, warm, salty, fatty and chewy on a plain base. Even today as I bite into a slice of Pepperoni Pizza this is the experience I’m recreating and a reminder that we don’t always have to make something complicated in order to give it value. There can be extraordinary in the ordinary depending on our perception and I choose to believe in the limitless possibilities of the extraordinary. I use all my spices that boost circulation and oxygen while improving heart, lung and brain function in my Pizza Sauce and layer my pie so each slice has an abundance of ingredients, flavors and textures as well as complete whole food nutrition. I’m a big fan of pineapple and love to add chopped pineapple and crushed red pepper flakes to my Pepperoni Pizza then drizzle it with habanero agave syrup after I bake it to really elevate my pie.

Let’s prepare some food…

INGREDIENTS
1 Schar Pizza Crust*

1⁄2 cup Pizza Sauce*

1 cup Mozzarella*

1⁄4 cup Parmesan*

Pepperoni Slices*
1⁄2 tsp Chia Seeds

2 tbsp Herbs de Provence
1 tbsp Basil dried
1⁄2 tsp Red Pepper flakes (optional)
Pinch Himalayan pink salt
1⁄2 cup Pineapple chopped (optional)
1⁄2 cup Vegetables whatever your kid likes (optional) Extra Virgin Olive Oil Spray
Habanero Agave Syrup* (optional)

UTENSILS
1 Butter knife or spreader Teaspoon
Cup
Cutting Board
Pizza Cutter

PREPERATION

  1. Have Pizza Sauce, Mozzarella, Parmesan and Pepperoni Slices prepared before you begin
  2. Open Schar pizza dough and place on cutting board
  3. Spray dough with Extra Virgin Olive Oil Spray
  4. Evenly spread Pizza Sauce over the entire dough going all the way to the edges
  5. Sprinkle sauce with Chia Seeds
  6. Sprinkle Herbs de Provence and Basil over the entire dough
  7. Add Mozzarella spreading over the entire dough going all the way to the edges
  8. Add Parmesan spreading over then entire dough going all the way to the edges
  9. Add Pepperoni slices; I usually go in a spiral from the inside out
  10. Add pinch of Himalayan Pink Salt
  11. Add Red Pepper flakes, pineapple and/or chopped vegetables (optional)
  12. Bake at 410 F for 11-14 minutes
  13. After removing from the oven let it set a couple minutes before cutting
  14. Top with Habanero Agave Syrup, salad greens tossed with pomegranate vinaigrette, Dragon Sauce* or enjoy the simple beauty that is a pepperoni pizza
  15. Eat hot and enjoy guilt free because every bite nourishes your body
